IT'S TO GOING TO BE READ BY MANY( I HOPE SO WHILE CHUCKLING INSIDE!!)


IT IS NO LONGER GOING TO REMAIN IN THE PAGES AND LANGUISH WAITING TO SEE THE LIGHT OF THE DAY.


The literature of the seven continents or say the world literature has been fascinating me since the second year of my undergraduate degree. I love discussing and relating the pieces of writings with the affairs of the world. 

My aim behind starting a blog is to chisel and give direction to my unshaped ideas. My writing is a medium to connect with the outside world- THE NETIZENS! I want to kindle the light of literature in every remote corner. I want it to share as much space as the news of reel life celebrities or a fiery political debate in any household. 

I have always tried to push beyond the drawn boundaries of literature. I am from India, but my purview isn't Indian Literature only. My eyes and ears stretch to the literature of seven continents. 

Writing fascinates me. The creation of an idea webbed in words is like watching the words coming to life. 

My first blog is titled- The August Beginning because the vision is magnificent. The range is as vast as the universe and the depth is as deep as Mariana Trench( Haha, Trust me!)

Basically, the world of Literature consists of fiction and non-fiction. But what is demarcated under the humble headings is the centuries of writings and zillion of accounts encapsulating the social, economic, intellectual, and political temper of the era. 

Beginnings are beautiful and hiccups are a part of the journey. I intend to share my understanding of literature while exchanging ideas from around the world. 

Irrespective of language, expression is the same. With this spirit, I give it a start to the enchanting as well as formidable task that I have cut out for myself.

P aula Richman, William H Danforth professor of South Asian Religions at Oberlin, Ohio, specialises in the study of Ramayana and Tamil. THE LITERARY CANON: AN OVERVIEW Defining canon? The word  canon comes from the Greek word Kanon, meaning a measuring rod or standard. Now, the literary works that have achieved the status of classics, i.e of lasting quality and timeless worth are clubbed under the literary canon.  Oh! What's classics?  Classics are an outstanding example of timeless worth and lasting quality. It was first used by the 2nd-century Roman writer Aulus Gellius. It is said that Aulus in the miscellany Noctes Atticae place writers as classics scriptor , non preletarius ( " A distinguished, not a commonplace writer"). Now, this kind of classification began with the Greeks! The ranking of their cultural works appeared with the word canon.
